William Henry Hooper Jr.

William (Bill) Hooper Jr .,90,passed away Sunday November 24th 2019. He was born April 20th 1929, in Wilmington Delaware, the son of English immigrants ,Mr. and Mrs. William Hooper Sr. He is survived by his two brothers Johnny Hooper ( Phoenix, AZ) and Arthur Hooper (Lakeland, Florida). He is also survived by his 3 sons Allen James Hooper(Big Canoe, Ga), Glenn Francis Hooper (Charlotte,NC), and Duane Patrick Hooper (Atlanta,Ga.) as well as 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bill served honorably as a private in the army during the Korean War .He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners organization. His career was with Honeywell corporation working In computer sales in New York, Washington and Germany. In 1966 ,William met the love of his life, Sylvia Kiser. They were married 48 years ,the two of them traveled around the world before eventually retiring in Charlotte NC . Bill and Sylvia attended St. John’s Episcopal Church in Charlotte.One of their favorite pastimes was traveling to Lake Norman and being with family.They were members of Rolling Hills Country Club where the two of them enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and entertaining guests. Bill was a huge PGA golf fan his entire life. Upon losing Sylvia to Cancer in 2014, Bill enjoyed socializing and meeting new friends at the Levine Senior Center in Mathews, NC. Happy Times on Thursday was his favorite. Rest In Peace , you will be missed .
