Thomas Clay Dellinger, PhD, beloved son, husband, and father, PhD in mechanical aerospace engineering, proud member of Sigma Chi fraternity, former North Carolina State University quarterback/ defensive back and member of the Buffalo Bills ('62), passed away at home with his family in Davidson, NC on November 15th, 2010. Tom was born on February 6th, 1940 in China Grove, NC to Roy and Tola Dellinger. His loving brother, Robert E. Dellinger, also currently lives in Davidson. Tom married Nancy Evans on June 20th, 1964 and they were blessed with three children, Kirsten, Kelly and Todd. Tom's professional life included 27 years with General Electric and the remainder of his career with IBM. Tom bravely won a fierce battle with cancer, for which Nancy and his children are eternally grateful. His fight earned him 2 ½ years, which he would not have otherwise enjoyed with his family. Through his creative spirit, Tom left a legacy of woodworking, paintings and countless inventions. Anyone who knew Tom has their own special story to tell.
