Sarah Bonner Stroupe

Sarah Bonner Stroupe, 95, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, February 16, 2012. Sarah was raised in Gaffney, SC, and following high school, married the late J. Carson Stroupe, Sr. and for 63 years they enjoyed a treasured life together. They raised their family in Charlotte, and when not actively involved with her husband and family, she was a demonstrator and sales associate for Waring products. Sarah and her late husband, Carson, had been members of First Baptist Church in Charlotte since 1943, and for many years she taught Sunday school and Training Union there. She truly loved the Lord. Sarah never met a stranger and always made a point to share Christ at every opportunity. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and proud "Mama Stroupe". Her immediate family includes her children, Norma S. Pate, and her husband, Jim, of Gaffney, SC, Jim C. Stroupe, Jr., and his wife, Linda, of Charlotte, and Phoebe S. Lee, and her husband, Earl, of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 301 S. Davidson St. Charlotte, NC 28231. -
