Max Deese

Olin Max Deese, 69 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, at Hospice of Union County, following an 8 month battle with cancer. Max was born in Union County, North Carolina on May 18, 1945, and was the son of the late Willie Deese and Carrie Helms Deese. Survivors include his wife, Nadine Deese; two sons, Greg Deese (Kathy), Roger Deese (Laura) and a daughter, Shannon Bromstrup and her husband, Robert; two step-children, Steven Wright (Kyla), and Wendy Wright; three brothers, Eugene, Donald, and Silas Deese. He was a proud pawpaw to fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Max will be remembered for his 39 loyal years of service at Pepsi Cola, from which he retired in 2006. He and Nadine also proudly owned 601 Food Mart in Monroe for 23 years. Max was an avid classic car enthusiast and was proud of his ‘57 Chevys. -
