Lloyd E. Church

Lloyd Edward Church arrived in Heaven April 3, 2014. He was born in Memphis, TN, August 30, 1921, and moved to Charlotte in 1997. He is survived by his two children, Tom (Peggy) Church and Trudy (Richard) Griffin. During WW II, he served as a radio operator in the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Church was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 77 years earning Eagle Scout, Silver Beaver, and Order of the Arrow. His retirement years were spent playing golf, wood carving, and enjoying time with his NC grandchildren, Curt Whalen and Sharon Pena, and his beloved great-grandchildren. He and his late wife, Dorothy, loved to travel and spend many happy times with their CA granddaughters, Katherine and Elizabeth Church. They were also active members in the Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir. -
