Larry Wayne Haulsee

September 4, 1947 — July 1, 2020

Larry Wayne Haulsee, 72, of Mint Hill was surrounded by his family when he went to his forever home with Jesus on July 1, 2020 after fighting a tough battle with cancer. Larry’s 72 years allowed him the time to love, and be loved by so many.

Affectionately known to those who loved him as “Pap”, a name he earned when his first grandson was born, Larry spent most of his time “keeping up with his grandsons”, which was his favorite thing to do. If there was a baseball game, wrestling match, or any other event for his four grandsons going on, you better believe you’d find Pap there. He was so proud of them, loved to brag on them, and spend time with them. Larry was also a member of Lee Park Baptist Church in Monroe, where he spent many years singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, and helping win others to Jesus.

Larry graduated from George Washington High School in Danville where he played baseball and met the love of his life, Robin. They married in 1968 and moved to Charlotte where he attended UNCC. He worked for many years at Guaranteed Supply Company in Charlotte where he was a sales rep. In addition to spending time with his family, Larry enjoyed spending time at the beach, singing karaoke, playing golf with his friends, and working in his yard.

Larry was born in Marion, VA, and later moved to Danville. He was the son of the late William & Olivene Haulsee. He was also preceded in death by his brother Barry Haulsee. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years, Robin, his daughters Page Haulsee Baker and Megan Harrill, his son-in-law Brian Harrill, and his four grandsons Joel, Jake, Brady, and Jaxon.

A visitation will be held at 3pm on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Lee Park Baptist Church located at 2491 Morgan Mill Rd. in Monroe, NC. A celebration of Larry’s life will follow beginning at 4pm. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you show kindness to your neighbors, love others as Jesus has instructed us to do, and enjoy your life as you receive it each day.
