John Henry Suddreth, Sr.

Mr. John Henry Suddreth, Sr, 86, of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 2, 2011. Mr. Suddreth served our nation as a sailor with the US Navy during World War II, and our community as a firefighter with the Charlotte Fire Department for 30 years. He was also a member of the Charles M. Setzer Lodge #693, F&AM, Scottish Rite, and the Oasis Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife, Helen. Childhood sweethearts, they married and spent over 69 years together. John is also survived by his sister Margaret Padgett; his sons, John Jr. and his wife, Mari, Scobey and his wife, Teresa, Scott and his wife, Virginia; and his daughter Paulette Cofer and her husband, Ed. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
