Jeweldine Brown Martin

Jewel Martin was named Jeweldine Brown upon birth on April 21st 1929 in Elk Valley, TN. While surrounded by her loving and caring family, she went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday morning, February 20, 2019.
The Browns moved to Charlotte, NC where Jewel went to school and graduated from Central High in 1947. She was married to the love of her life, Donald J. Martin for 61 years before he went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 1, 2012. Her children are also natives of Charlotte; Sandra Martin Kennerly, and her husband, Jim, Janice Martin Wilson, and her husband, Ray, and Kenneth Eugene Martin, and his wife Diane. Additional immediate family members include six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, her brother Carl Brown (wife Joyce) and sister Donna Millard (husband Jerry). She was also preceded in death by her brother D C Brown, Jr, and her grandson, Joshua Kenneth Martin.
Jewel retired from food broker, J.A. Richardson Company after 20+ years as an executive secretary for the Richardson family. If you were to spend the night with her, you would hear her call your name in prayer preceded by your family title just to make sure the Lord had the right person named. After retiring she loved traveling with her loving husband and especially spending time with and loving her family. She looked forward to visits, phone calls with friends and family, birthday parties and picnics at the lake.
