Jennifer Pyatt McManus, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, January 15, 2013. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia, September 16, 1972, to Herndon F. (Sonny) Pyatt and Mariruth Redfern Pyatt. Jennifer spent her younger years on the east coast of North Carolina, having lived many years in one of her favorite places and frequent family vacation spots- the Outer Banks. After moving to Winston-Salem, in 1984, she attended local Christian schools and then graduated from West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, NC. She further studied at several community colleges in the Piedmont area. On September 6, 1997, Jennifer married her first love, Gregory Scott McManus, and together they have two sons. They spent their first years of marriage in Atlanta, Georgia. Returning to North Carolina, she spent her remaining days in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Her immediate family includes her husband of fifteen years, Greg McManus; sons, Keenan Aubrey McManus and Carson Scott McManus; her parents, Sonny and Mariruth Pyatt; sisters, Diane Hartman, and her husband, Tony, and Ashley Pyatt; her dearly loved in-laws, Dr. Ronald F. McManus and Joan Keenan McManus; brother in law and wife, Pastors Kevin and Danielle McManus of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; niece and nephew, Addison and Caleb McManus. She loved and was dearly loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jennifer devoted her life entirely to her family and was a “boy’s mom” in every way. She loved yoga, decorating, and was a great cook. Her home was always one of warm hospitality and her heart was one of service to others in need. She and her family attended Central Church of God in Charlotte where she dearly loved her pastors and the music ministry there. Jennifer will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to express a special “thank you” to all that have come alongside them during this difficult journey- truly from all over the world. And a special gratitude for those who attended and cared for her over these last three years in hospitals and treatment centers. In lieu of flowers, during this time, contributions may be made to the Jennifer McManus Memorial Fund through the Bank of North Carolina, Post Office Box 1533, Cornelius, North Carolina, 28031. “…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him!” –
