Jeanne Carolyn Treadwell, 69, of Matthews, North Carolina, passed away on January 22, 2019, after a long illness.
Jeanne Treadwell was born on May 11, 1949, in New York City, to Russell and Joanna Ingersoll. Jeanne was a resident of New York State until 2003 before moving to North Carolina.
Jeanne graduated in 1967 from the Ladycliff Academy in Mohegan, New York. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Western Connecticut State University with a degree in Secondary English. She began her career as a high school English teacher at Walter Panas High School in Cortland Manor, New York. Library science was always a personal passion for Jeanne. She transitioned to a position as a librarian at the same school. Jeanne loved working with children and worked as a preschool teacher before retiring in 2011.
Jeanne enjoyed being a member of several churches throughout her life. She always believed that she had a calling to pray for others and to uplift the less fortunate. She participated in prison and food outreach ministries throughout her life. Jeanne also enjoyed debating the latest political topics of the day with friends and family. Her biggest passion in life was spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Jeanne is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard Treadwell, of Matthews, North Carolina; her sons Daryl Treadwell of New Paltz, New York and John Treadwell of Stafford, Virginia; her grandchildren, Diego, Araceli, and Jonathan; her brother, Gerry Ingersoll, of Clifton, New Jersey; her nephew Keith Ingersoll of Michigan and her niece, Stephanie Cohen of White Plains, New York.
