Gene O. Helms

Gene Ormand Helms, 45, of Henderson NC, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 2, 2016. He was born in Union County on October 8,1970, and graduated from Piedmont High School in Monroe, NC. His career was a long distance truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Thomas (Boone) Helms and brother, Ronnie Helms. He is survived by his 3 children: Dustin Luke Helms and his wife Tori of Perkins OK, Timothy Hunter Helms and Camryn Elizabeth Helms of Oakboro, NC; his mother, Betty R Helms of Autumn Care, Marshville, NC; two sisters: Linda Austin and husband Hal of Oakboro/Peachland NC and Karen Williams and husband Eric of Peachland NC; two brothers, Thomas Helms of Marshville NC and Daniel Helms of Monroe NC; numerous nieces and nephews and friend, Becky Dickerson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family or to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. -
