David Lee Reeves

David Lee Reeves, 79, of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday morning, June 26, 2011. Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary S. Reeves. David, as a young man in high school, loved sports and was active in baseball, basketball, and football. He was a member of the 1951 Kershaw, SC, High School football team when they won the SC State Championship that year. He continued to be active in sports, even after his discharge from the U.S.Navy in 1956. He not only continued to play ball, but coached little league baseball and football for many years. David was a proud member of Steele Creek Lodge #737, AF&AM, was a Scottish Rite Mason, and an Oasis Shriner. David had also, for 47 years, been a member, along with his wife, of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mr. Reeves' immediate family includes his children, Renee Stallings of Wesley Chapel, and Russell Reeves of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Brian Reeves, Matt Reeves, and Bailey Stallings; four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church or Steele Creek Lodge#737 AF&AM.
