The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Melody King can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Sherry H. Wright
Condolence: Dear Nan, Dawn and family ... I was so sorry to hear about Melody’s struggle with cancer and now her passing. As a young, quiet, awkward and insecure kid from Franklin Street, I can recall coming to your house on Armitage Drive and always feeling welcome and included. Melody was beautiful and one of those “cool” teenage girls ... but she was also genuinely kind, gentle and made you feel seen and like you mattered. She was a light in this dark world and I know your hearts are broken. Praying for the peace that passes all understanding to guard your hearts and souls in this difficult time. ~Sherry Humphreys Wright

Condolence From: Melissa Tamez
Condolence: Melody was one of the most kind souls I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She left a legacy many of us can only hope to leave. I know that her greatest joy in this life was her children and grandchildren. My heart breaks for them, but rejoices with Melody. She has the best seat in the house to watch over her grandbabies. Love you all.

Condolence From: Marsha Gaither
Condolence: Melody was a precious friend. Several years ago, after her first real scare, I had some time with Melody. I have never seen anyone braver!
About 15 years ago, she very often, helped in the kitchen at Central Church. She would come in after a long day at work, always - absolutely always smiling. I am thankful that I got to know and love her.
We are praying for you all!

In His love,
Marsha Gaither
